At the age of 8 Unitz got his first pair of decks mixing early Garage and Jungle. When Garage faded out he focused on mixing Grime and Dubstep before it even had a name. Around 14 he started experimenting making tunes. Before you know it he was skipping school locking himself in the studio until 6am every day learning sound design and production.
Unitz signed to Caspa's Dub Police label at the of age 17 with 2 releases ‘The Drop’ / ‘Morning Subs’ and ‘Wait A Minute’ on ‘License To Thrill Part 4’. ‘The Drop’ also featured on Mary Anne Hobbs’ compilation CD named Evangeline and the Fabriclive 37 CD mixed by Caspa & Rusko. He has now had releases on Scion A/V, Doctor P and Flux Pavilion's label Circus and has got a lot more to come with a large selection of Unitz beats in his itunes.
Unitz is one of the founders of the original Dubstep night in Epsom named Subspotting. He has also done various radio shows on Rinse FM and Getdarker. He also featured on the Dub Police Takeover on BBC Radio 1 in 2007 on the Mary Anne Hobbs show.
Unitz has many projects in the pipeline, including a new single for Circus, a Jungle EP for N Type’s label Terrain and Dubwise beats for Rod Azlan. On top of this Unitz is also finding the time to start his own label. With his foundation years spent on Dub Police, and now Circus, the future is very bright for Unitz.
